This is going to be a long one so get comfy make a tea or a snack....
So I've been trying to find the right words to start off this blog with you guys, and it has been a long one to figure out the approach to my readers. Well, I'm just going to come out and say it, I'm hoping to be at least Cruelty-Free by Christmas rolls around. I at least want to be 85-100% CF by then, you're saying why only 85?! Well, I have some stuff that I still need to go through and use, and I'm not just going to throw it away. Once one product is used up I'm going to replace it with a CF alternative, that I know is CF. Also, some stuff that my mom and dad use will not be CF, will I try to find alternatives for them, yes but it's a work in progress with them if you know what I mean when I say they are old school way of thinking. Think I got my mom going in the right direction of thinking, been discussing with her on some laundry alternatives and dish soap ideas. This is where I wish we still had Target because they had a great selection of everything, and it's not like finding easter eggs on supplies. Do you research on products and if you're not sure you can email them and ask what their animal testing rights are. Found the FAQ of websites and companies very helpful, most are there for you to find there was some that I had to email. Also finding great websites online was a huge blessing especially on getting started, what I needed to look for and how to go about it.
One thing I'm going to address and I know it's a very heated with the CF community. Is parent brands, example Loreal or MAC is yes they don't test on animals in your country but as a whole, they sell to China who tests on animals. Also, this is how I look at it China is huge on animal testing and animal cruelty in general, it's not going to end, or get any better because it's their law. But back to the makeup I think its good to make a company know where their sales are going and hopefully one day it will change and we will see a difference.
Sephora was a great help when I walked in there not to long ago, I was looking for some samples and I asked about it. They pulled out a handy little piece of paper that someone wrote up for them to use, and she wrote down every company that was on that list. I will be going in depth about that in part 2, but thought it was nice of her to write down all for me. I even suggested to Sephora head office that they should stick a heading on their site for easy way to find things CF.
Well I hope you can make this journey with me, your most beloved post will have the same format thought just changing on how I few products now.
