Summer Drinks !!

Hey Girls this is a little different post than normal, I was thinking on my walk what could I do for a different blog, thought this was perfect. I'm sharing with you all of the beverages I like to make and drink in those very hot summer days. Even tho you should be drinking  every day, on those hot days  drinking more water is a good thing. I think some things in moderation is the key, sometimes you also get sick of just drinking water all summer.  So in this blog I'm going to share at least my top 4 that I think are go-to summer drinks. All of these drinks can be turned into the friendly " Adult" drinks as well just add what alcohol you would like to mix with.

  • 5 lemons
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 1 1/4 quarts water

  • Peel the rinds from the 5 lemons and cut them into 1/2 inch slices. Set the lemons aside.
  • Place the rinds in a bowl and sprinkle the sugar over them. Let this stand for
about one hour, so that the sugar begins to soak up the oils from the lemons.
  • Bring water to a boil in a covered saucepan and then pour the hot water over the sugared lemon rinds. Allow this mixture to cool for 20 min then remove the rinds.
  • Squeeze the lemons into another bowl. Pour the juice through a strainer into the sugar mixture. Stir well, pour into pitcher and pop it in the fridge! Serve with ice cubes.

Summer Sweet Tea

  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 6 tea bags
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 6 cups cool water

  • Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda into a 64-ounce, heat-proof, glass pitcher. Pour in boiling water, and add tea bags. Cover, and allow to steep for 15 minutes.
  • Remove tea bags, and discard; stir in sugar until dissolved. Pour in cool water, then refrigerate until cold.

Shirley Temple

  • 6 fluid ounces lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
  • A splash of good Orange Juice
  • 1 dash grenadine syrup
  • 1 maraschino cherry

  • Into a tall glass, pour grenadine on bottom over ice pour soda than top with OJ Add cherry and straw.

Raspberry Fizzier

  • 1 1/2 cups raspberry juice
  • 3 scoops raspberry sherbet
  • 1/2 cup carbonated water

  • In a blender, combine raspberry juice, raspberry sherbet and carbonated water. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
** This can also be made with other sherbets and flavored juices

So I hope you guys enjoy these is much  as I do ♥ KT
